Earlier this summer, my family and I were asked to take part in a video shoot for the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design. What an honour!
I will admit I was a little nervous to be on camera and worried about how my two young daughters would behave in a glass studio (eek). But, being a big fan of Cape Breton artisans and the lovely folks at the Centre for Craft and Design, I jumped at the opportunity to participate.
So we headed up to Glass Artisans Studio & Gallery along the beautiful Cabot Trail. Owner Wendy Smith greeted us with open arms (she was less worried than I was about kids in a glass gallery) and we quickly moved over to the studio to watch Curtis Dionne work his magic with blown glass. Amazing.
I am proud to say that the result of this shoot and several others was carefully edited into an inspiring and beautiful piece of art. Crew Productions skillfully pieced together the story with the talented Yvette Rogers providing the amazingly moving soundtrack and Lori Burke and her colleagues at the Centre for Craft and Design had the vision to make this happen.
